One of the greatest football – soccer players of all time and the famous upside down bicycle kick photo scored almost a goal per game throughout his career. At age 14 considered too young to play, ended up top scorer with reported 15 goals.  “That gave me a lot of confidence”, Pelé said, “I knew then not to be afraid of whatever might come”.  1961 the government of Brazil under President Jânio Quadros declared Pelé an “official national treasure” to prevent him from being transferred out of the country. October 1977, Pelé career ended in an exhibition match between the Santos and the Cosmos. Cosmos winning 2–1, Scoring his final goal during the second half, it started to rain, prompting a Brazilian newspaper to come out with the headline the following day: “Even The Sky Was Crying.”

1999, named Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee
