We created WhiteLight Design + Product QuickStart out of a passion to meet the product development, prototyping, and manufacturing needs of small to mid-sized companies, entrepreneurs, and start-ups. There is many engineers, marketing people, and ‘invention submission companies’ that will gladly take your money and get you a color rendering. Our goal is to be direct and ethical operators, and we do everything we can to help our clients understand what they are getting into and their chances of success. It’s not uncommon for us to advise our potential clients that they shouldn’t spend any more money (with us or anyone else). If we don’t see a potential path to success for you or your company, we will tell you.
We’ve spent some of our careers working in a large design group and helping to develop manufacturing design, and launching new products for major brands and big companies. We love innovating with big name companies, but we have a special enthusiasm for working with smaller companies, entrepreneurs and start-up teams that are full of passion, ambition, and great ideas. That’s why we created WhiteLight Design + Product QuickStart… both to feed our professional passion, and to provide world class product development. Who am I paying for?
An open secret about traditional development firms is that all of those people have to be paid every month, whether they are busy or not. While it may be tempting to work with a large team, bear in mind that you are likely paying the overhead for a lot of people who aren’t actually working on your product.
A Design intern?
Traditional product development firms may have a few senior people who sell you on hiring them, but then don’t actually work on your project. At the end of the day, you may not know whether your product is being designed by an intern.
