       Start with learning the Key Vocabulary and the general rules, procedures and laws regarding Intellectual Property, the use of Non – Disclosure Confidentiality agreements including the patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret protection  system.  We always recommend working with a registered Patent Attorney.  If a royalty of license agreement is your goal then educate yourself on the advantages and disadvantages of this system.  The real issues are making sure you are conducting product development under the proper, compliance and standards and know which jurisdiction of Government Organizations and Safety Regulators you may be operating under, including required oversight and procedures for conducting testing and documentation Fund_Comply.htm  for approvals and certification which may be required for your product or market.  Joining Industry Associations can be beneficial to imply compliance and keep abreast of current and arising product, electronic and manufacturing technologies.
