Inventor – Provisional Patent
We specialize in working with inventors and entrepreneurs who are in the initial patent and or manufacturing – quotation development process. We offer patent drawing services that meet U.S. P.T.O. standards and most importantly save you money by not getting rejected. The purpose of these services is to get your product invention concept “idea” on to paper in a clear and concise, and right the first time. To qualify for a patent it must be in a feasible manufacturing line drawing format to support visualizing and communicating the overall invention or product concept. The reason you work with us is we will work with you to create a feasible plan that can get the job done with scientific repeatability. Patents are very expensive and every claim, use of grammar and word, with the supporting illustrations can make or break your intellectual property rights. We always recommend you work with a U.S. P.T.O. registered Patent Attorney. 3D Proof of Concept prototypes are also a good idea. Reducing your manufactured cost and time to market is why you invest in WhiteLight Design. The closer you get to realistically visualizing your invention or product in production the better your chances of success.
Inventor Meetings by Consulting Agreement only. We offer an hourly personal consulting meeting or teleconference to discuss, review and make recommendations on the potential of inventions, product or machine concepts and the relative production development issues. The cost is based on the requested areas of input including a Senior Industrial Designer or Engineer (15+ Yrs experience). Additional M.S., Masters of Science and Ph.D., Doctorate level or (P.E.) Professionally Registered Engineers are available upon request.
Engineering (ME/EE) Technical Assessment: delivers written document as to the electrical – mechanical engineering – lighting technology, outlining production development issues and basic development cost estimates. Call for an estimate (no drawings) Feasibility Study: delivers basic design, thumbnail sketches and design for mass materials and processes, production review and development costing information – with recommendations for a development strategy. Feasibility investigations range form a very focused study or Feasibility Review to a Full Industrial Design, Engineering, manufacturing or production level Feasibility Study. See Feasibility Study.
Product Invention – Drawing Service: This service includes a personal meeting or telephone consultation to review your information. Based on the information provided, the objective is to develop and deliver a 1- 2 page Descriptive “Brief Drawing” with basic dimensions, suggested materials and manufacturing processes and descriptive, bullet statement, call-outs. The drawings will be delivered in hard copy, fax and/or computer photo .jpg or .tif formats and may be used for business planning, preliminary patent searches and/or review with potential manufacturers. * Note: We must see some basic drawing or patent information to provide a quotation. Final quoted costs depend on the number of drawings requested and the invention 3D design and drawing complexity.
1 page – line drawing sketches Typically consists of a scaled front, top and side view with basic descriptions with a 3/4 perspective view including 5-10 call-out descriptions, all assembled onto a 11×17 or reduced 8-1/2 inch drawing Service cost per page. Call for an estimate.
2-3 pages – line drawing sketches Typically consists of a scaled front, top and side view with basic descriptions with a descriptive 1-3 perspective views with possible cross section and or exploded view drawings and 5-10 call-out descriptions, all assembled onto a 11×17 or reduced 8-1/2 inch drawing. 2-3 pages – B/W Digital Drawings for use in business presentations. Microsoft TM or AppleTM platforms delivering MS/PowerpointTM or Adobe IllustratorTM or PhotoshopTM digital illustrations -line drawing sketches based on the invention information supplied. Typically consists of a front, top side view and 2 perspective views and possible cross section and or exploded view drawings with 5-10 call-out descriptions. Quote is Black & White line drawings. 1 Color Drawing – Digital Rendering for use in business presentations. Hand drawn – color marker or digitally illustrated drawing based on the invention information supplied. Typically consists of a front, top side view and 1-2 perspective views with 5-10 call-out descriptions per page . Exploded views may be extra. Call for an estimate
1 3D CAD Color Rendering for use in business presentations. Color 3D CAD Rhino programs delivering a basic 3D virtual form geometry model, delivering digital screen captures PhotoshopTM .tif or .jpg Typically consists of a front, top side view and 1-2 perspective views with 5-10 call-out descriptions per page . Exploded assembly views may be extra. Call for an estimate.
Entrepreneurs can use these basic drawings to quickly communicate their ideas and Email or Fax to business associates, designers, molders and manufacturers. Industrial Designers can use them to evaluate system level human factors, user interface design and engineering requirements along with estimating prototyping costs. Manufacturers and Molders can use the drawings to support initial materials, manufacturing, tooling and molding quotations for mass production. Some programs require research and development phases and/or functional or proof of concept models prior to mass production development. Full scale product design & development programs including Industrial Design, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services are typically the next step.
NOTE: These preliminary design or development services include limited industrial design services, but does not include mechanical or electrical engineering level or CAD drawing, design services. Additional services, pages and or costs may be necessary to thoroughly develop and communicate your ideas. Upon initiation of the service WD will determine if additional services are necessary to do the job. We are not a manufacturer, molder, marketer, or invention promotion company. All services will be quoted prior to delivery.
